Our Square Spaghetti, more commonly known as spaghetti alla chitarra, is a variety of pasta typical of the Abruzzo region in Italy. With a square cross section about 2–3 mm thick, Square Spaghetti is exactly as the name suggests. This pasta is made with a chitarra (Italian for "guitar"), a special pasta-cutting tool with a simple design: a rectangular wooden frame strung with metal wires that cut sheets of pasta into strands. The resulting square shape of these noodles gives them textural appeal and makes them an ideal pasta partner for a hearty meat sauce.
